eating up connecting rod bearings

eating up connecting rod bearings
what could cause my 22re to eat up connecting rod bearings.. like one every 15 km's.. its been 3 in 5 days. as i have not been able to work on it every day.. its getting really annoying to test drive it then ahve it blow another rod and have to fix it again.

ok well i have it ripped apart now.. the rod bearings are good this time. my symptoms. knocking, loss of power(wont rev over 3000rpm), and metal shavings in oil.. what else could be doing this.. either something that causes rod bearings to fail or the last 2 just failed for no reason.. either or because i am lost

well i said it and pulled the motor today. got it all ripped apart. takin the crank to get machined tomorrow and going to order some new parts also tomorrow. pretty much everything that hasnt been replaced is gettin it. oil pump bearings seals and chain cover. if this dont fix it it a 350 would be cheaper

oh i will be cleaning the whole block out while its apart. the pickup was fine. i think its about time for a new oil pump. and i think the head could use a good clean. shine up them valves and such so hopefully i get a little power back to turn some 35's one day

Did you check the clearance when you installed new rod bearings? Use a marking tape.
Make sure you put the right size bearings in there. Also if you like to use lots of RTV, you may have clogged an oil hole in the block.

for the most part, there's nothing copper in the engine other than the substrate within the rod and crank bearings.
if you keep chewing up bearings, the only logical cause is one or more blocked oil galleys, caused by either the residuals of one or more failed bearings or crap from a failed timing chain guide.
