Done did some work, son

So I got tired of a few things. One, my horrid rear bumper. It wasn't mounted good enough to be of any use other than looking horrible, so I got rid of it.

I also have a nagging problem with the damn thing running warm. Gone thru pretty well everything on the cooling side and it's all good. New thermostat, new fan clutch, pretty well most everything short of a pump. So, I got a hair brained idea and started cutting stuff, lol.

You guys will like this, lol. The vent is off a 2010 Mustang GT500. Get it direct from Ford for about 40 bucks, and it's a good looking piece IMHO.

In cab pic of it....

And outside....

I have a good line on a tranny from a guy on here, so hopefully that will pan out shortly, and I have some extra cash coming in in a couple weeks, so I'm hoping to pick up a new set of bumpers from Addicted then. In the mean time I'm going to start working on cleaning up/finishing the interior.

Feedback welcome on the heat extractor. It flows a pretty good amount of air just sitting still at idle, so I'm thinking it's really going to drop the ambient temps while moving.

Be aware it's not an exact fit, lol. It has a curve to it where as our hoods are pretty well flat, so it doesn't quite fit how it should. The corners don't quite stick down the way I'd like. I'm a bit of a perfectionist tho, so probably be good and well enough for most people. Little stuff like that drives me nuts tho, lol.

Think I'll look for one the vents to the rear of the hood. Lots of rain here, like 3/4 of the year.

I like the looks of the vent, at least at a distance. What did you do about the hood bracing underneath?

Well, I had to cut a good portion of it to fit the vent. I'm not sure if I'm going to reglue everything or weld. Haven't decided yet. Probably use glue so as not warp the sheetmetal.

The edges on the vent that don't seal the way I want are going to get some attention sometime, but for now I have other concerns, lol.

Negative, the vent it's self is ABS plastic.
