Disc conversion help!

Hey guys. so I just finished up doing the rear disc conversion to my 84 pick up. I used both brake rotors, and bracket kit from sky manufacturing. As the kit suggested I bought two front brake calipers for a 1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Everything went great, everything fit together perfectly however...

After I put everything together, and bled the brakes system. I noticed that the rotors are about a half an inch away from being fully pressed against this started axle housing like in the picture.






Can anyone tell me where I went wrong?

Here are another couple pics. The brackets are mounted as to have to calipers towards the front of the vehicle.



As you can see the sender hub isn't receded into the rotor at all. Look how short the threads are!

That looks like a floating caliper. Im pretty sure all you need to do is use your lug nuts to hold the rotor in place (should have done that before bleeding, but it shouldn't be a big deal now either). With the rotor just loosely on there, the caliper is going to move the rotor instead of "centering" itself on the rotor.

What gets me is that even when the caliper is tight the back half of the rotor slides into the axle anothe quarter inch while the front is locked still. If I were to put a tire on it would be crooked.

Im not sure I follow what you are saying. Have you tried taking the caliper off, pushing the piston back into the caliper, installing lut nuts to secure the rotor, and then installing the caliper?

I fixed the problem. The casting on the rotor had a little piece that was blocking the caliper from sitting in the bracket right.
