Diagnosing Engine Knock and Other Sounds
Hello,
Need help from the community diagnosing abnormal sounds from my engine. Appreciate any help.
The first diagnosis is what sounds like a knocking sound when starting the engine. After engine reaches idle, the knock sound goes away and sounds normal when revving up to 2K - 3K. When I drive this truck I dont hear the knock sound unless the truck reaches a low idle. Did some research and this knock appears to be the timing chain becoming slack and hitting the guides. I am not sure so looking for confirmation as well as severity i.e. can I still drive the truck or will cause immediate damage? The 47 second video shows what I am describing.
