Crank pulley issues. Grooves and leaking

Crank pulley issues. Grooves and leaking
So I posted earlier about a leaking oil pump after timing chain replacement. I took everything apart and resealed timing chain cover and oil pump. All that is good now. I put in a new front main seal and it started to leak instantly.
I just tore it apart again and found this: Looks like seal separated some how. What would cause this? It was lubed up prior to install. The outer ring is damaged from me removing it.
After further inspection, it appears my pulley has 2 groves in it. I guess my only option is to replace or sleeve it. I noticed this metal ring on the back of the pulley also. Is that a stock ring? It looks like it was added to push seal out to a different spot on pulley (hence 2 grooves).
Any thoughts on how to stop this from happening again and seal it up to stop the leaks?

Sleeve it or replace the pulley, but since you bought an offset seal try that.

...you put the oil slinger plate or whatever its called on backwards, at this point I would just remove it.

Gonna try the offset seal. I also found out that metal ring is the dust seal and is usually pressed on (yes I have it on backwards in my picture). I tried to press it on, but it was VERY loose. Toyed with the idea of JB welding it on, but decided not to. To prevent another seal getting eaten up, I am not going to re-install it with the pully.

Ditched the dust cover and put a sleeve on. Figured I had it off and did not want to do it again. Gonna do the slim seal since I have it. Figured I can switch to the full size seal when I rebuild down the road.

And the saga continues... Reassembled last night. New sleeve, new seal, all cleaned up. Used RTV on sleeve (cured 24hrs), RTV on top oil pump bolt, RTV on crank pulley bolt, used petroleum jelly inside seal to retain spring, lightly oiled seal before install, etc, etc. Basically did everything I have read on tips and trick on every forum I could find.
STILL LEAKS!
Sides of oil pump are dry (oil pump seal is good). It still appears to be coming from behind the pulley where you really cannot see it and running into the pulley and slinging into the engine bay. It is enough to create a large puddle under the truck while it sits at idle in my driveway.
The leak took a little while to develop (about 10-15 minutes of run time), so I am wondering if something is eating the seal in the pump housing. I will take apart AGAIN tonight to inspect. The crank pulley has that raised lip where the dust shiled is pressed on and I am wondering after I torque down the bolt, if that raised area is somehow pushing into the seal?
Then again, it can be a cheap defective "new" autozone oil pump!
And to add- it was not leaking before I changed timing chain, oil pump, and water pump!

Just found this tid bit of info on the LCE website:
I looked at mine, and from the timing marks, it appears Autozone sold me the wrong pump.
I have an early casting 1984 22R. I cant measure it yet, but quick glance it appears to be the wider one. So I assume every time I put in a seal, the crank pulley was basically mashing into it and causing the leak. I had Autozone order another one so I can take a look.
I looked at mine, and from the timing marks, it appears Autozone sold me the wrong pump.

DONE! Turns out I bought an oil pump from Autozone that was in the right box and barcode, but wrong pump in the box! SOB! There goes a week of hair pulling, 4 seals and a speedi sleeve. Autozone reordered the pump, and this time the correct 22R pump was in there. It would have been less expensive, quicker, and just plain smarter to buy the pump from the people who know Toyotas - LCE!
Put back together and no leaks! TIme to tune up that webber.

Update- Holding strong with no leaks. Im sure sleeving it helped out a lot. Lesson learned - ALWAYS keep old part to compare to new part.
New project will be messing with the Weber,desmog,timing combo. She likes to bog down under full acceleration. I feel like a granny leaving stop lights and cars behind me are not to happy. I believe vacuum advance had failed since it is an older unit. Ill replace that next week and see how it goes. From the posts here, it seems like the Weber likes a bit more advanved timing than stock, but that will all be for another thread.
