Well, after reading many 22r to 22re swaps and the wiring posts, I am going to fuel inject the beast. But now for the million dollar Question. Will it be easier/better to pull the wiring or swap the cab onto my frame???????

Thanks in advance for your opinions, and yes the 2oR-22r hybrid is staying in ther and still working on tha intake. Just have to get some more measurements and have it cut out.

to swap the wiring harness you would have to pull the dashboard out. Having done both, i would let the condition of the cab decide. Is the cab with the wiring you want cleaner than the one you have now? If not I would swap the harness instead of the cab.

It only takes a few hours to swap a cab harness and you can easily do it by yourself. To swap an entire cab seems pretty extreme to me unless yours is in really bad shape.

both cabs are in great shape, but the 86 has a good bed and my bed is already off. Swapping the cabs shouldn't be that hard wiht the equipment I have and The paint would match.

depending on how much money you have to spend their is a new system called fuel air spark technology its a bolt on carb to fuel injection conversion kit

I havent done the wiring but swapping cabs is easy, I would not let it scare you. The bed bolts on mine were tough and I broke some heads off of the bolts, and there is only 6 bolts that hold the cab. Might need to re-register the truck due to VIN number. I changed frames so didnt need to re-register. It took me about 12 hours and I only had help lifting the bed and cab off, the rest I did.

terrys87, welcome to yotatech and thanks to all of you for your help. Looks like the cab is getting swapped out, plus now I'll have the same key for the ignition and the doors. The other cab is going back on the other truck and found another solid axle, so you know where this is gonna go.

When i did this i had a 92 2WD 22RE pickup that was the donor truck and everything went into my 84 4WD 22R. I was thinking about doing a cab swap too and i think it possibly could've worked but i ended up just swapping the whole harness. It took about a week of working on it most of the day but there were a lot of other side jobs like fixing up a gas tank set up and things of that nature to mess with too. it really wasn't too hard and it should be even easier because the years of the two trucks are so close.

i swapped the wiring harness and i will never do that again haha just remember to switch the tanks
