bumper problems

I bought a custom bumper for a 87 4runner and im tryin to put it on my 85 pickup. Long story short I thought they would fit. Anyone know for sure there is a difference.

your runner and truck should be exactly the same from about as far back as the dash all the way forward.

The bolt pattern on the the 84 and 85 are the same. 86 and newer the bolt pattern is different. I pulled my black bumper off and found a chrome off an 86 and had to use my old brackets on my new bumper to fit. If its a custom bumper like yours then you will have to fab up new mounts. Hope that helps

i think it has to do with it being solid axle instead of IFS...obviously the mounting holes are different......

The lower four are the same. The upper two are different.

Also, the 84/85 body sits 3/4" of lower than IFS models.

punch the winch plate, get a uni-bit and a 5/8" drill... voila! it fits!
