blown tranny NEED HELP

hey guys, i have an 85 SR5 4x4 longbox pickup with a 5 speed.

whats the number of the tranny?, as mine pops in 1st 2nd 3rd is gone ( shift around it) and 5th is whining so i dont use it ...

help me out guys what do you think could be wrong?

should i look for a whole new tranny or try and rebuild mine?

any help is appreciated

no haters though. nobody needs that.

sounds like it is toasted....I would just replace it. there are lots around in the classifieds for cheaper then a rebuild.

what am i looking at for the individual parts ?

my guess is around $650

i had toy connection reserve me a marlin tranny
they said 750 with a 50 dollar core charge.

what should i do?

im not sure which tranny i have though in case i want to just get a rebuilt

whats the difference between the a,b,c and d w56's?

i want the marlin bad but the guy i talked to said they were 6 weeks out with 2 people working full time

ugh

either way my other baby has to go to fund this new issue

anyone interested in a 69 cal bug with shaved everything minus lights,new interior,dropped to the ground,roll cage and a 2332cc stroker?

Since you are in San Jose bring it over to Manjit in Santa Clara for a test drive. He just rebuilt my transmission. He works with his son Mel.
