Hi there, I'm new here. I ran into a problem and decided to ask yota tech.

I received a Smittybilt XRC 8 Winch for my birthday. On my 1985 4runner, I have an ARB bumper. I have owned the truck for a few months. I am not the original owner nor did I put the bumper on.

I tried to install the winch tonight and to my disapointment I found the winch's feet are to wide for the mounting holes on the bumper. Has anyone found this? Are there work arounds? Should I get a different winch? Should I search for a new bumper? Should I modify the bumper?

Your saying the winch fits in the mounting location but the mounting holes don`t line up ??

Is it possible to drill new holes ??

Make a complete new winch mounting plate weld that onto the bumper
