Adjusting drag link

Is the drag link on the 85 adjustable to take out slack? I cannot tell since mine has 20 pounds of grease caked on it.

there is a plug screw on the ends that can be tighten to take up some slack. a better fix is to go with crossover steering

Thanks, but no crossover at this time I'm poor and the truck has other stuff to keep me busy.

You can crank down the ends, I made a special tool to do mine:

Or you can get a draglink socket bit from a specialty tool place. You can also shim the internal cups with a small coin to give yourself a bit more adjustment if everything is bottomed out. Be sure to grease the ball and soocket well.
