Hi there first time post.. I recently bought a 1985 yota pick up with a 22re (stick) and I cannot get it running. fuel pressure is awsome all the time and all my relays and fuses are good. I tested the injectors and NOTHING but the cold start injector has juice. So then found out people were having problems with the factory splices in the wiring. Checked them out, their good and have power when the key is on and cranking it over. Also I have no check engine light when the key is on. So then tried to get codes nothing.then i took a test light and tested wire for check engine light out of computer and the light comes on in dash and it has power. Idk about the check engine light but think wire is separated under the intake. I know I'm leaving something out but if anyone could help I'm pulling my hair out HAHA

you need to trace back from the injectors to where you get power. idk if this makes sense i just woke up. use the test light and follow the wire back to the pcm until you see that it is getting power. there could be a break in the wire

I guess I will have to take off the upper intake just to get at the wires... bc i have power at the blue and yellow wires that goes under the upper intake for the injectors. i bought the truck not running he thought it was the maf. but i can hear it open and close? idk

If your truck has a solenoid resistor check to see if its good. If its bad your truck won`t start, it has something to do with the power going to the injectors. This part went bad on my 86 4Runner and it wouldn`t start, once i replaced the solenoid resistor it started right up.

i have power coming out of the solenoid resister, im getting power out of the blue and yellow wires from the solenoid that are spliced into wiring is that the only wires i should b checking? did alot work to truck and thought getting it running would b the easy part haha

i now took a test light and grounded it and i get power on both injector wires but no ground. my noid light does not light up at all except on the cold start injector. i dont want to take upper intake off if i dont have to but idk what else to do... PLEASE HELP any thing else that i should check?????

There is a ground wire coming off of the wiring harness make sure that is hooked up I just went through the same problem with mine, I replaced everything except the ECU and come to find out it was that darn ground.

I literally just fought this same prob last weekend....

Is the check engine light on while you're cranking?

If not, ECM is not getting power (mine was a fuse, even though i checked it, it blew way up in the corner, Guess thats what i get for not getting it out into the light for thorough inspection)

If so, you can check the circuitry to injectors by jumpering the injector ground circuit at ecm. check the FSM for ECM pinout (if you start at front drivers piv w/ "A" they will be "C" & "D" in front plug)

leave everything hooked up, just use paper clip (or similar down the side of the wire going into plug & ground this out. now check your noid light.

If glowing then circuit is good to injectors. So either ECM is bad (not likely) or Ignitor isn't telling ECM to fire injectors (not likely if you're getting fire).

This is where I double checked & realized Check engine light wasn't lighting while cranking, & found blown fuse.
