willl they fit? im thinking it may actually be better and would allow me to air down alot more without the bead breaking as easily. would it make a difference if i went radial or bias ply as far as the wheel issue?

They may fit but it will be a tight squeeze, I think you would be better off with 35x12.5 or using bigger rims ike 15x8 or 15x10.

i have 33x12.50's on them now but i figure that the extra 1/2 an inch on each side wont be a big differance. the wheels may be 15x8 , the 33's fit nicely, maybe i should try to measure for sure. the tires only stick out a little bit more than the wheels. the righ is mostly an offroad rig with maybe 25 % on the road at most.

i was just trying to save a few hundred on wheels, i may end up with a set of 15x10 street loks.

If that is a 7 inch wheel you shouldnt even be running a 33 12x50 on it. And I wouldnt recommend running a 36 13x50 on anything less that a 8-9 inch wheel, especially if your going to be offroading. It makes it easy for the bead to pop off when your wheel is to skinny.

Uh, no. The bigger the difference between wheel and tire width the better the bead retention is. The 7 will hold the bead better than the 8, but will cause the tire to wear faster in the center and have more roll when driving on the street.

For a year and a half i ran an 11" wide tire on 5.5" wide rims without any issues. I put 22K miles on them in that time on the street, and it saw the trail on average twice a month. Even on my heavy K5 i had to run 18 psi on the street to get the TSL's to wear evenly, though, as they really wanted to wear the center with any more pressure than that. I was able to run 6-8 psi on the trail without any bead issues as well.

thanks joez i thought that was right. the guys on pirate say its ok to do 35x15.5's on 8 inchers just wanted a second opinion. and you are right about the bead retention. the only thing is the tires will wear a little more on the road. like i said ill be off road mostly and the less air i can run the better. with a wider wheel youl need more air to keep the bead sealed. i was just curious if anybody had ran this setup and what kind of results they had.

do you think i would be better off with a radial type or am i ok with the bias plys?

You will be fine. It will take really low pressures to keep a flat contact patch on the street, but trail will be fine, just not optimal

cool, im gonna get the tires first and put them on my 15x7s then ill get the 15x10's later. i can get them mounted for free so its isnt a big deal.
