2L diesel need some help.

hey yall,
i just bought a 1984 2.4L diesel toyota truck. i bought it knowing that it needed a new starter and alternator. well i'm NOT a mechanic or anything close. i have all the tools, parts, and a chiltons. but i see that both the starter but mainly the alternator are in hard to get to spots. any suggestions? and also what is the consensus on these toyota diesels?

The consensus on Toyota diesels is that they are badass and most of us in the U.S. wish we had them here. Post Pics!
