1985 Toyota Truck 22RE Intake Leak

Hi, on my Toyota MotorHome it won't pass smog most likely due to an intake air leak. I have never been able to use the carb spray test very well. So I decided to seal off every connection to the intake and use a vacuum tester to see if will hold. What do you think? I have also been testing the various components as I disconnect them from the intake. I found and fixed a bad oil dipstick leak. But there is also a leak I could hear down by the oil pan that I could not locate. And little bubbles from a bolt too down there. Should I work on this crankcase leak further or is a little leak ok? I vacuum tested the brake booster too it held. Right now I am waiting for a big cork to fit in the throttle body.I am also concerned the EGR might leak and also I tested the air idle control when hot and it passed air which it's not supposed to when hot, right?

Any ideas on intake leak finding I would appreciate. Thanks

I discovered the Auxiliary Air Valve has an o ring that seals the shutter. It was leaking alot of air, I think this was my main leak. Cool. So now I will make an effort to find the small crankcase air leak as well as try to pressure test the intake, I got the cork and it fits. Thanks

O2 Sensor stays at .15v at idle

I didn't try to seal the intake because the throttle valve probably would pass air, I may still try. It's driving me nuts though. The O2 sensor reads like the mixture is real lean or too much air. It will go up to .45V at 2500 rpm but as soon as it idles it goes down to .15V. Everytime at 2500 rpm for 2 minutes also the O2 code shows up. The pipe from the EGR is cooler than the plenum so I don't think it's leaking. I also slipped a piece of aluminum to block the EGR and no change to the O2 Reading. Does anyone know where else a vaccuum leak could be? I d/c the PCV hoses too with no increase in voltage.I may check the valves next has anyone done the valve adjustment on their 22re? Thanks

Also has anyone used a duty cycle meter before? I just got one and the injector reads 4% at idle and goes up to 10% at 2500rpm. Does this sound normal?

Check the rubber boots between your throttle valve and the MAF, they have a tendency to crack and suck air... I've done a trail fix by wrapping a bag around the cracked area and bungy'd it before and after the crack, keeps it from sucking air and should get you through....
Good luck,
Chad

Thanks I checked visually and they seem ok. I am going to plug the plenum and vacuum test it. I may check the valve clearances too. I tried to put propane into a port but no change in rpm or O2 voltage. Very confusing.

Passed Smog Today

I was expecting to pay $200 to have it worked on but they wanted the smog report. So I went to do a pretest and it passed! It has a miss, I think the EGR system may need a look at. Thanks for the suggestions.

I adjusted the valves and cured the miss.
