1985 4Runner Tail Pipe turbo install

Hi I am not new to the site But I am just palning this for after surgery. I have a 1985 4Runner that is in the build thread http://www.yotatech.com/f115/ride-quality-133028/ . I am wanting to do a tail pipe turbo install. My 4Runner is a 2.4l efi . I have a old turbo from a 1989 Lebaron. I have the whole car and going to pull all the parts I can to do this. My question is:
Is there a chip upgrade for the OBD1?
Will I need a iner cooler with the turbo in the rear of the car?
I am a little new to turbos so any other info will help.
Hear is a picture of my truck.

rear mounted turbo's dont require an intercooler since the piping is under the car and so long at that

you will need oil circulation to the turbo. thats why i put mine on the back burner.

http://www.yotatech.com/f88/thaught-...t=remote+turbo

all the oil pumps you can buy are pretty expensive and they dont take heat too well. as far as the chip i dont know, mine was carb'ed

Shouldn't need an intercooler, like said, piping is long enough that it should be ok. Keep us updated...

Oil cooling.....how about a adapter on the oil filter for the pick up, then a electric oil pump on the line to the turbo and return threw the filter adapter. I have several of them for my big blocks oil coolers.

you know... i dont know for sure. I would love to see you do it without one but i dont know if it will work. I was gonna use a external oil reserve for just the turbo on mine so thats why i suggested it. Thats a long way for the oil to travel and either way its going to put stress on the oil system and that could be dangerous, and any time boost is introduced to an engine you need to be carefull about how many "what ifs" you have going on. I say go for it and see if it works, theres no better way to find out than actualy "finding out"

I was thinking about the oil cooler setup on my hot rod and it does not have a pump with a filter adapter. I am running 60 pounds of pressure in the big block and the idiot gauge in the 4Runner does not tell me a thing....Possably I need to know if I have 30 pounds of pressure or less. I allso wanted new bearings before I start the experment.
