transmission bushing for l45 side sifter
Okay I saw one post about the different trany's the problem I have is that I have a side shift transmission that there are no bushings between the shifter and the tray makeing it difficult to find gears. Can I buy bushings to fit between the shifter and trans case or are there other ways to tighten this up

I was looking at another website and it said that in 1980 toyota used a L42 transmisson in both four wheel drive and two wheel drive trucks is this right ?

I think '80 4wd's had the L43 4-speed. I have the L43 in my '79. About 3 years ago I replaced the rubber bushings that go between the transmission and the shifter base (I think there are 4 total - 2 each side of each bolt that attaches the shifter base to the transmission). I got them from the Toyota dealer. This solved all of my sloppy shifting issues.
