Seats for an 82 (Trekker)

I'm in the process of fixing up my 82 Trekker. I've been cutting old rusted metal out of the floors and patching new stuff in. I'll por 15 it then add some peal n seal with a molded vinyl flooring over that.

Anyway, I want to find some seats that will fit nicely with minimal modification. Any suggestions?

Cheers!

Corbeau makes seat rail adapters for all their seats. They are a little pricey, but they are a good seat. However, if you are doing a bunch repair and fab work already then why not modify the existing seat mount locations for new seats?

I have no problems making new seat mounts. That's basically the plan anyways. I just didn't know if someone had a few suggestions for some nice junkyard seats that'll fit well..

if you have no problems making new seat mounts , my suggestion to you would be to go sit in some seats in the junk yard and see what YOU like !

My gf just bought these for me about a week ago. Celica GT seats. Haven't got to fit them in yet as I'm replacing some of my floor pan also but it doesnt seem like it will takr much of anything to get them to bolt up....maybe some small brackets. They are a pretty good size seat and they conform really well when you sit in them. They are also toyota which is a plus!

You can basically make anything from a midsized truck or car fit in these things, given a little work.
Civic/Acura seats are popular because they're about the same track width as stock, and can be modified easily to fit stock seat rails.
I had some APC race buckets for a while that I snagged off Craigslist, and drilled to fit the stock SR5 bucket seat rails I'd had at the time. They worked well, but sucked for long trips.
All I can say is that the best general rule of thumb for seats is: "Garbage in, garbage out." If you have to save up a few extra pennies for better seats in the long run, do it and don't think twice. It's more cost-effective in the long run.

Why is she still your girlfriend?? Any woman that buys you parts for your truck is wife material right there!

Are the seat belt buckles attached to the seats on those? I kind of like that, are the pickup belts compatible with those buckles?

Haha I know right?...maybe in another year or 2, we've been together just over a year right now.

But yes the buckles are attached to the seat and they also pivot back and forth. They aren't fixed in one position. As far as working with the pickup belts I'm unsure of. I will check that and get back with you. If they don't work then there is a plastic cover which I'm sure you could pull off and remove the buckles or maybe even swap them out for the pickup ones.

They also have a turn dial on the side which raises or lowers the rear of the seat bottom, I'm guessing for height adjustment. Probably good for me since I'm 5'6" haha. But I'll check and see about the buckles after I get home from work.
