ok so Im still looking to make my 81 trail capable but still serve its main purpose as my daily driver. as of now she is 100% stock other than shocks, PS, 83 grille conversion...
I want a suspension setup that will ride great on the street but still perform on the trail Im going to run 31s instead of my 235/75/15s. I want maybe 1-2" of lift and be able to run stock steering maybe a drop draglink but no high steer yet... I was thinking rears up front with banana shackle and axle relocation plate to put it back at stock location. I want a decant bolt on with no welding but dont want crappy suspension and minimal lift.
Qs
how do RUF do on DD rigs?
what mods are required?
how should I match the rear?
I would like to see pics of 1st gens with minor but good setups...I have checked the 1st gen pic thread but the pics I like have no specs

1988 4Runner
So I got my newly configured spring pack done last night, and here is how it sits, 47" from the ground to the lip of my latched hood with fairly worn 34 x 10.50 tsl tires. The pack is made up of 6 leaves total, the top 3 leaves are directly pulled from the rear of my 88 4runner, and I can't say exactly where the other 3 leaves came from since I just had them laying around, but I can say that they are the same thickness and have the same un-weighted arc as the other stock rears, and I've only ever mixed in stock Toyota rear leaves into my other spring packs that I've made. Also, this time around I used a trail-gear spring hanger kit for the front witha 5" shackle. So far the shackle angle is at 70 degrees with a distance of 44.5" from spring mount hole to shackle tube in frame, but it might settle 5 more degrees with a little driving/flexing. It's a pretty easy modification, I hope I've helped.
