Not sure what other year shifters would fit, but I'd say:internet
You'll find a shifter in the classifieds either on this site, marlin crawler, pirate. Try the "practically anything you want" thread over on the Marlin forum, or some of the other threads. Shouldn't be too hard to find one.

I have a couple of early model shifters if interested. Not exactly sure what model transmissions they came off of, but are basically the same overall.

I know my G52/54 shifter fit L45/52 the bends are just a lil different
