Engnbldr looks to have heads as well, although they are around the same cost fully assembled.

not for an 82. They pointed me toward a few machine shops that might and they all did not have any.

I was under the impression that an 80-84 head is compatible. I still have not found one....

I was looking at these, but if you look at the website it doesn't include one for a 82. I've been planning on a long read and research one these engines, but the one I have now if running and I have so many other things that need to be done , brakes , running light , windshield leak , rust , radio , dash lights , Ac , defrost vents, dash pad , small leaks on axles. The more I think about it, I need to abduct a half dozen mechanics.

oh and a exhaust leak , I'm going to be get their headers , from what I read I should enjoy just the sound of the truck enough to make it a good purchase

you would need one built pre mid year 1984 I believe. Deck height changed after that, so the ones mass produced now will not fit 1st generation 22r's. a 20R head will work also but the intake has round ports instead of square ones. also make sure it is drilled for power steering brackets and has the opening for mechanical fuel pump if that's how you are setup. I think the fuel pump opening would only be an issue on a 20r head. that first one on the rockauto search 13swords posted looks right. their return policy is usually pretty lax too.
