I would like a picture or diagram of the passenger side heater hose routing, it seems I am missing some part, I thought it would connect to the small water pipe coming out of the timing cover but they are not the same diameter. I have been goolging for a diagram and searching my fsm but I have found nothing, thanks for the help!

Yeah I checked that out but here is the problem, the passenger side heater hose seems to be going to a pipe (87248a) which I have, but what does that pipe connect to?

Or can I just connect the heater hose to the pipe coming out of the passenger side timing cover, or will that block the flow?

Good, I'm a couple of days away from the first start up so I guess I'll try it and see if it works, what I find confusing is according to this diagram, the coolant is coming IN from the passenger side heater, and out of the drivers side, and the pipe coming out of the passenger side timing cover does not push coolant, it seems to pull, so it seems coolant wouldn't circulate, or maybe I'm looking at this all wrong.



There is also the coolant port on the side of the head in between the intake manifold runners that I blocked off (I also blocked off the port going under the intake manifold), is that where the passenger side heater hose is supposed to connect to originally?

Damn, here is a guy who routed the hose like I want to do (passenger side heater hose to passenger side pipe at the back of timing cover) and he is saying he has no flow to the heater core, he ended up using a port on the intake manifold, which I don't have on my 20r intake (one hole is for oem temp gauge and the other is for aftermaket temp gauge).

If you are looking over top of the engine, coolant runs kind of runs clockwise - basically from the lower radiator outlet on the driver side, to the water pump, through the engine, out the thermostat housing and into the upper radiator inlet on the passenger side. I think what may confuse you is that it enters the water pump and loops around the engine and the back through the thermostat.

Here is how I am running mine (keep in mind that I am 100% desmogged and everything is plated off):
-Hose from the under side of the intake manifold (LCE Intake Block Off Plate) to the heater core valve
-Hose from the heater core valve to the passenger side inlet of the heater core
-Hose from the drive side outlet of the heater core to the factory hard pipe down by the driver side engine mount.
-Hard pipe then ties directly into the radiator via radiator hose.

Here's some pictures I had from my desmog thread:
-The barb under the manifold goes to the heater core valve (circled in red, labeled "HEATER")


-Here's a shot of the underside of the intake manifold of that same barb


-You can also route a heater core inlet hose from the pipe that attaches here (circled) that I blocked off


-Here's a couple shots of that hard pipe on the driver side down by the engine mount. It has a barb coming off it for the heater hose (it is directly about the piece of tape on my engine mounts with "TIGHTEN" on it to remind me to tighten down the engine mounts)

Yes it does, what confused me is the direction of the flow, since I am using a 20r manifold I don't have the thread underneath, so I will be using a port from the head from the little block in between the intake manifold runners, I will block the water pipe coming out of the timing cover and then I'll also be 100% blocked and de smogged. Thanks

good tech here. i think i had mine routed incorrectly. where does the t on the dside hardline pipe go though
