jacked up dizzy
Ah... the joys of tinkering.
Turns out the vacuum advance on my distributor is getting 'hung up' on the 'octane selector' dial, and not getting any advance as the engine speeds increase. If I bring up RPM and give the dial a 'flick' with my fingernail, then it pops free and advances as it should. This probbably explains the lack of power and poor milage I'm seeing from my brand new engine (20r/22r hybrid).
SOOooo.. I get to tear apart the dizzy and see if I can find/eliminate the snag to try and get the thing to function properly.
Just how I wanted to spend my Saturday.
Yay.

Well... it apparently wasn't what I though. It seems the dashpot is junk. Won't hold vacuum.
New one is about $50.... FOR JUST THE DASHPOT!
But in all my tinkering, I managed to loosen it up a bit, so I think it'll work for a few days until I can get the electornic dizzy I have on the shelf cleaned up and ready to roll.
Are the igniters different from points to electronic? I'm not used to working with ignitors. Mopar electronic ignitions don't use em......at least not that I know of. They do have a control box though....would that be the same thing you think?
