Center Bezel Questions

Okay, so my 82 has always had a hacked-up falling apart center dash bezel. Only reason I kept it was because I didn't feel like hacking apart a good center bezel just to fit in my old DIN radio. Anyway, the radio finally died so.....

I picked up a Center Bezel in great condition FOR FREE. I also got a radio which should fit the two-shaft mounting location.

Problem being the Bezel came from a 79, dimensions are all the same but the heater controls are different. Mine has 3 levers and a rotating switch, the old bezel is set up for 4 levers and another lever for the switch. Basically the cutouts will not work the way they are.

How can I make this work? I'm considering just removing the area where the levers come through and attaching my faceplate to it, should look factory. Any Opinions, or ideas are welcome. Heck, if you've got a newer style bezel and need an older style one, hit me up for a trade

You would be better off finding the right bezel on ebay (there are a bunch) but all you need is the wiring diagram for the two different models and change the wiring. Wiring is similar on both models so it isn't hard to make the change.

does the guy have the heater controls for that bezzle you got ? if so you can replace just the heater control + switch , with a simple re-pin the of the connector.. it will swap in .. cables are the same , and the extra "slot" is for the A/C control

I think I have a Bezel for a 82. I will go to the field and look tomorrow. I know it is in good shape. Cause I wanted it for my 80 but wouldn't fit.
