Getting ready to view an 83 4x4 with supposedly 120,000 miles
little bit of bed rust.
owner mentions only thing it needs is a clutch
will post pics.
think of rebuilding this as a dedicated weekend wheeler
hoping it looks better than the owner describes

If all it needs is a clutch and did you say 120,000? Wow. Buy it up. Im currently doing a body off resto on a 83. I think they are killer. Love to see some pics.

Well we have some seats out of a wrecked 96 4runner. Im goin duraline the interior and the bottom 1/4 of the sides. give it a 3 in. lift. Got some sr5 wheels off of a late model taco. If money allows all new bumpers. Alluminum door panels and dash. trying to find a 5 sp consol out of a late model. We rebuild the 22r and are going to put alcohol injection on it. Resealed the axles. Looking for some lockers. Thought about a snorkle. The cab has rotten floor panels and 2 wasted body mounts so thats next on the list after primer and body work is done. I hope im drivin in a couple more months. But you know how 1 thing leads to another, Im really just taking my time and doing it right. Its my first rebuild to. Id really like to find a good inclinometer.

naw. the owner went out of town and I had baby duty. planning on going tomorrow during lunch. will take some photos.
as far as lifts go, what should I be looking to do to it should the vehicle look good?
3" or 6"? would like to add 35 or 36 swampers to it.
I am sure I will need to regear perhaps a 5:29 or somewthing.
truck is a 4 speed manual
