82 troubles still

I don't get it.
History:
The truck quit idling good, so I installed a weber 3236. Started and ran fine. THen quit getting fuel. Swaped out fuel pump with electric pump. Still no gas, ended up pulling the tank and found out that the intake tube was plugged. Fixed that and ran a new hose from the tank to the filter to the carb. Then it started fine. Then the next weekend it would not start. Next weekend it started, but was not running on all 4 cyl.. I stomp on the gas and then it idles fine after a back fire. Look at cap and wires, #1 is in really bad shape. Replace wires and cap. Then ran fine. Drove it around. Parked it 3 weeks ago. Now it won't start. Seams to not be getting gas??? So what is the problem with this damn truck? Anyone around Vancouver that nows these trucks and webers?
Thanks

Well I figured out one part of the problem. When I put the tank back in I blocked off the original fuel return hose since I was no longer running it to the carb. My carb gets gas when I keep the fuel cap off. So now I am going to drop the tank again and put some type of filter on the return hose to keep it open while keeping dirt out. I am going to do this next weekend, I'll let you know how it turns out.

I feel for you. That stuff gets frustrating. I am getting ready do a carb conversion or EFI and I have been following your issues with your carb...wish I had a clue... When it gets about 90* or so my truck gets vapor locks syndromes...Keep us updates
