82 Pickup and towing?
Hey guys I have an 82 pickup 4wd with no rear bumper what so ever. From what i can tell the chassis doesn't look hacked up in anyway and the bed isn't shortened. Does anyone know of a tow hitch i can bolt up or find that still clears the spare tire? I'm only towing a jet ski at most. I see one on eBay

Im hoping this may work. Does anyone know if the 84 and 82 mounting dimensions are the same.

My brother was able to get a receiver hitch from Wal-Mart that bolted right to the chassis for his 88 truck. It is a universal kit and works great for his jet ski set up. I am sure it would fit your truck.

Any luck?
I have a '92 that I'd like to put a hitch on as well. There seems to be a largely untapped market for the first few generations of the truck. I'm not sure how similar the chassis are on the early 80s vs. the early 90s but something like this may work for you:
I found this one on eBay which I'll probably pick up after I free up some cash.
The manufacturer is Chassis Unlimited and have it listed for $500 (part number: CU-50705). To be frank the welds look pretty cheesy, but this is still the best package I've found thus far.
Any one else got a line on a decent bumper with a hitch receiver?

Last I checked the only outfit that builds a hitch for a first-gen would be U-haul, it is only a class I and is a special order hitch.
If it were me I would go to wal-mart and pick up a reese multi-fit hitch. These hitches are designed to fit about 50 different cars and are adjustable for width and come with a variety of brackets. I think you could probably make something work. Just my two-cents.
