4" backspacing, too much?

i picked up a nice set of mag wheels, thinking they might look good on the pickup.

the backspacing is 4", its a 7" wide wheel. i don't have any stock wheels to compare with, but i'm thinking 4" of backspacing might be too much. anyone know for sure?

Al

Might just fit, usually 3-3/4" is about the max, 3-3/8" is stock:

Wheel spacers might help if they are close to fitting, likely rubbing on the steering arms and with any size tire you'll probably have the tires rubbing on the springs at full lock.

it also depends on what size tire you run... I ran stock IFS(4.5"BS)rims with 31s and came close... and am currently running 37x13s on 3.75"BS and they rub at full lock

i will switch back to around the stock tire size (235/75/15) for now until i find the time to swap out springs and add power steering, then i'll go with a taller tire 33-35s, but probably no wider then 10.50. i have 33x12.50's on it now and it wanders too much with that wide of a foot print, plus the lack of power steering gets old pretty fast.

i do like the wider stance my current wheels give it, so i'll have to order up some wheel spacers to make the mag wheels work. not my first choice, but it will have to do unless i come across mags with less backspacing.
