when I got my truck it had a 20r block with a 22r head

Not sure what is in your price range but maybe try a reman head from a reputable supplier? Alabama Cylinder Head Exchange has done well in the past for my Dad's shop - maybe try calling them. Or Try Cylinder Head International. I think CHI had a pretty reasonably priced reman head. I know nothing about them as a company though...
