1983 toyota 4wd
Hello Yotatech,
I have no experience with older Toyota trucks. I have come across a really good deal on 1983 fully restored pickup 4wd, with a 22r.
My question is, I would use the the truck as a daily driver and some trips, LA to SF, down to baja on some surf trip. Any thoughts or personal experience would be really appreciated. I have to act fast if I want it.
Thanks...

If the actual question is can you do that stuff, the easy answer is yes. The true answer is it depends on how well the work was done.
I had an 83 that I rebuilt and I took it everywhere; it was my daily driver. Drove it from Montana to Pheonix and back, southern Utah a ton of times, etc. It's not exactly comfortable for road trips, but it's a toyota. I currently have a 78 2wd Toyota pickup, and I've put 30,000 miles on it in the last year. Montana/Idaho/Utah/Colorado/New Mexico/Arizona/California/Oregon/Washington then out to Minnesota for the winter, back all the way to southern Utah, then up to Montana. Never once left me stranded.
All depends on the condition of the truck, how well the work was done, and how well you keep up with routine maintenance. My trucks rarely break down; not necessarily because of being "restored" or anything, but because I keep up on the things that typically break and leave you stranded.

I hope you got the truck. The most important thing is to think outside the box when you are relying on a 30+ year old vehicle to get you from one place to another. Every time I take the '85 Supra to a car show, I pay more attention to the little things than I do when loading up the Sequoia for a road trip
