I apologize for being a little new at this, I may should have mentioned I have an 88 Pickup with the V6, a G292 behind the R150F if the plate is to be believed? I'm still trying to learn what is compatible.
Are either of your two a "30 spline with the 4 fins?" Or does that even matter?
I'm up in Nashville from time to time for work, so how far into the hollers are you? No one from car-part.com has returned messages from the quote interface for almost a month now, and that's from about 10 queries I've sent out thus far, so I'm serious about buying one of yours if it won't screw up my truck being that either of yours is not completely different than what came designed for this V6 stock.

I saw the same pics earlier in the thread, but I can't use the more common 27 spline axles housings that came with the 4 cylinders trucks. I appreciate you replying though.
Unless you knew these came from a turbo truck, or could provide the actual diff code from the under-hood plate... six hours would be too far a drive to realize these won't work in a V6 truck with 30 spline axles needing having four pinions.

I have no problem admitting to being new to these vehicles, but everywhere I look there seems to be an enormous amount of info stating that the "Turbo/V6" 3rd members are not the same as the 4 cylinder rear diffs. Specifically; the axle spline count on my truck is 30, therefore my axles won't physically fit into the 27 spline receiving driven bevel gears.
Also, the number of fins counted on these rear thirds is an indicator of the number of spider pinion gears, of which my truck came with four.
The pics here look great, and it's my damnedest wish to pick up another 4.10 third for this truck of mine, but my axles won't physically fit into any listed so far.
If I'm wrong, please cite where I can interchange the two. It sure would make my life a lot easier right now. lol

I do believe I have what you need but I'm in Maryland.
This one is even easier to read. All are 30 spline. I have a 4cly in the front of my 83. And a factory v6 4:88 in the rear on mine.

I have three extra 4:10's at home. 1 v6 and two 4cly

Justin, that's some incredible enlightenment about the subject, and though I've taken some time to digest it I may still not truly understand the benefits of trying to stay with the "4 fin" V6 rear thirds, if only to think it may be a physically stronger housing. Switching to a "3 fin" shouldn't bother me as much since I'm not going to try to physically damage it by sliding off something I couldn't drive over, but it's a little hard for me to think I wouldn't want what at least came with my truck (in the spirit of the thing.)
It seems as though there are many more options (thankfully) for my little truck than I originally thought.
Justin, you state you may have a V6 rear 4.10 at home. I'll PM you now to ask about cost and shipping.
aamsowens, you're a lot closer though, and since whatever I get will be a relatively long-term fix to see if I can one day put a limited slip in whatever it is this kid welded up in the rear I have while it is out of the truck, I'd be curious as well what you'd let go one of your 4.10's go for as well. PM'ing you with my shipping info as well.
I did get a hold of a few of the junkyards found through car-part.com, but I'd rather give money to guys who own and drive these vehicles instead.
