79/83 sterring shaft

Have a steering shaft off the 1st. gen trks. These are a little bit cooler than the 84/95's in that they are all machined and have no rag joint like the newer ones. These are splined like a driveshaft. The u joint is tight but while its out you might want to pull the joint and replace with a greaseable joint, that would be Prescion #395 joint. I completely bead blasted it down to bare metal so its totally clean . I left it unpainted. The pins in the sliding shaft are intact, I took the box off to remove the shaft instead of drilling them out.If you mount it on a body lifted outfit you should drill them out and extend it a bit as any shaft. Thes will work on any pre -Taco outfit, I have one on my truck. Another cool thing to get from this era truck (79/83) is the all metal radiator shroud to replace the plastic one. I learned of this from Randy @ AOR along time ago. $35 delivered by mail ,must have a USPS MO for payment
