Steering box plate

I've seen some nice steering box plates people have made here on Yotatech for their 2nd generation 4Runners. I need to move my steering forward about 2 inches and I wanted to plate the frame with 1/4in. steel.

I was wondering if anyone could fab me a plate up and I can pay through paypal for it.

Thanks
Smod

For $40 you can get the IFS box mounting kit from Trail-gear or Marlin....

Oh sick i didn't even know they had those. lol. I see on Marlin they make it with 3/16th inch steel. That seems a lil weak. doesn't it?

On the other hand this one on trail-gear has 1/4 inch steel on the inner and 3/16th inch steel on the outter plates. But it says it for converting push pull steering to the box but I'm assuming it will work on my 2nd gen 4runner to move the steering forward...

Which one you guys think I should get?

Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.

get the trail gear one. It is for converting the steering but can also be used in your case. My friend bought the trail gear one and works as it should.. And no the 3/16th aint gonna be that weak. Your gonna have to do some pounding and maybe some cutting to move the box so far forward. but the farther forward the better. You planning on moving the axle forward too?? Ive got pics of both my steering plate and axle being moved forward on my 4.3 build thread (links at bottom of my sig)

Oh yeah for sure. The axle is moved forward approximately 2in. I think I may make one to save a lil $$ because I have 1/4 steel plate that I can just cut out and little pieces of tube for the bolts. I'm probably going to make it 1/4 steel on both sides. Or I still may get the trail gear one. I haven't decided for sure yet.. lol.

Yeah I've seen your thread and your runner is sick. I'm going to look at the steering box plate on your thread a lil more before I start to move the box forward.

In my sas thread I established making a template out of cardboard for the plate would be the best thing to do.. I honestly don't think it's going to be too hard but I'm still considering the trail gear one because I have very little time to work on my truck..
