These are Heavy duty Spiral design boots , so no they do not split apart,... those are for emergencies.
These are Outers that get flexd a lot with big suspension.
When people lift the truck by Torking down the torsion bars it put's excesive angle on the Outer Boots and wear out quickly. These are designed with a speacial Spiral in them to handle the extra angle.
I never used them because I destroyed the IFS 4wheel drive before I had a chance to use them.
