1985 Toyota 4runner

1985 Solid axle toyota 4runner. Located in Fayetteville, AR, 72701

Exterior- Hurculined, clean cut fenders, no lift, 37" MTR's 95% tread, 4.88/detroit front axle, 4.88/detroit rear axle, 1.50 wheel spacers, front axle moved forward 2", front and rear diff armor.
Interior- Mostly stock, Pioneer mp3/cd player.
Engine 22RE 173,000 miles runs great, smooth, and strong.
Trans 5 speed standard

I have used this 4runner for DD/Trail rig and it's been suprisingly great. I was worried the 4.88's wouldn't push the 37's very well but I pull up hills in 4th no problem and run 75+ in 5th with ease. I built this with the intensions of keeping it low long and wide (good platform).

Future plans were- 4.7 t-case gears, tub firewall, and tub the rear 13.5", put some armor on and have some fun.

Asking $4000 FIRM 1-479-422-6862 or Email anthony.harder@yahoo.com

Nice rig! It looks awesome with those 37's. I would've considered this if I hadn't just purchased myself an 87 project. good luck with the sale

I'd be interested could you give me some more info on it such as mileage, condition, goods, bads, when the last time the timing belts were done, water pump, bla bla bla and maybe some more pics if you have them.

Let me know what other pictures you would like other than what is in the link to my profile in my signature. I'll take whatever you'd like me to. *EDIT* Interior pictures now up in my profile. *EDIT*

I bought the car 1 year ago with 159,000 miles and have used it as a DD and light trail rig on weekends. It currently has 165,000 miles.

It has just about every option available on a '98 Limited Model with an MSRP of $38,800.

Things I've replaced / Added within the last 6,000 miles:
  • Timing Belt
  • Both Timing Belt Idler Pulleys (just in case)
  • Timing Belt Tensioner (just in case)
  • Water Pump (Bosch non-remanufactured)
  • All Accessory Belts
  • Normal Tune-Up Items (PCV, Air Filter, etc)
  • All Fluids (except Brake & Power Steering...)
  • OME 881 Front Springs, 890 Rear Springs
  • OME Shocks
  • BFG A/T 285/75 R16
  • Energy Suspension Poly Body Mounts (4Crawler)
  • 4Crawler 1.5" Body Lift
  • Stubbs HD-SKO Sliders (welded on)
  • B&M Plate-Style Trans Cooler
  • Bypassed Factory Tranny Cooler (just in case)
  • Wet Okole Seat Covers (black & tan)
  • Optima Red Top 34R

Overall Impressions:
  • Interior is pretty much a 10/10. It is in great shape and is super comfortable. A/C blows super cold, heat works great, all windows & sunroof roll down and don't leak. Nice, quiet comfortable DD ride.
  • Exterior is probably a 7/10 due to some trail pinstriping and small dents. The car was in some sort of a front end collision back in 2001 (as seen on the Carfax) and there is still some evidence of this in the form of loose corner lamps & slightly noticeable paint work (if you're good and know what you're looking for). All body panels are straight and the car looks like a 10/10 from about 6 ft out.
  • Car drives and tracks very straight, no vibrations, shimmies, etc. It will cruise all day long at 80+. It has good power, too.
  • 4WD and locker work every time.
  • Transmission is strong and shifts smooth as glass every time.

The Bad:
  • Tree scratches in paint (clear coat scratches)
  • Small, minor dings here & there
  • Small exhaust leak somewhere under car. Can be heard on startup and acceleration. No discoloration, etc can be found under the car, though. It's very minor.
  • Clock stopped working a few months ago inside
  • Catalytic converter likely dead (not clogged, just inactive), exhaust stinks a bit
  • Front Corner lamps slightly loose
  • As with all cars of this age, wheel center cap paint has faded

Honestly, I think this car is probably worth up to $8,000 considering it is ready for another 165,000 miles and it looks and performs great. I bought it for $5,500 but have put $3,000 into it, so I'd be willing to let it go for a little less than $8,000.

How's that for information overload?

Let me know if you're still interested, I have quite a few questions for you.

Thanks,

Dan

Thanks for the info and pics. The fact that it's had front end damage kind of turnes me off. Let me think on it a little but as of right now I have a few people looking at my runner and if I can sell it out right I think that's the way I'd prefer to go. Thanks!

Anthony
