1984 4runner, $2000, MD

SOLD locally... Thanks for looking.

Well, I've been going back and forth with this decision, but I believe it's time to sell my 4runner. I just found out today that my wife's family sold their 100+ acre property where I drove this vehicle exclusively. I really have no where else to drive it, and don't plan on putting any money into it to make it streetable. Besides, I bought it to wheel and not drive around town.

Anyway, it's an 84 runner, SFA of course, with about 130K miles on the original drive train. Has the normal rust on all 4 fenders but the frame is in very good shape in regards to rust. Has 35" BFG's with lots of tread. Rear window works. Only real issue is that the e-choke needs fixing. It runs rough/rich at 1st start up but runs perfect once it's warmed up. Has a new JVC head unit and I replaced the front speakers. Here are some pics from about 10 months ago, but I'll post newer pics tomorrow. And it's now flat black.

Looking to get $2000 and located in Lothian, MD.

Edit 7/7/09: New price of $1800

Nice price too...wish you were closer and I'd be looking a lot harder at it. Good luck with the sale. BTW, what is involved in making this streetable? In Missouri, this looks like your average lifted 4runner running down the street.

I don't think you could get this through MD inspection with this much lift, but I could be wrong. While the brakes work plenty fine for the trail, I would want to do new brakes on all four corners if I was going to drive it on the road on a regular basis. Also, it has stock 4:10 gears and while I've had it on the road for short trips to the gas station, I wouldn't want to drive it very far.

Thanks for the info on registering in MD. I guess I should have looked into it back when I bought this thing about 2 years ago and I could have been driving it on the road too. I still think it should get gears and brakes to be streetable though. My wife's cousin heard I was selling this and said he'd like to have it. He said he should have the money in about a week or two. If he falls through, I'll take the time then to get some more detailed pics and post them up.

Ok, my wife's cousin still wants my 4runner, but hasn't gotten the money together just yet. He's still working on it but int he mean time, I'm off tomorrow and will try to get some more pics and post them up.

Also, how about a price drop, now only $1800.
