Up for sale is a BRAND NEW not rebuilt Toyota Tacoma Transfer case for the 3.4 V6 manual trans. This is a genuine Toyota T-case. Part number 36110-35440.

Is this transfer case has a locking differential? Looks like you have an actuator motor on top.

It would likely work with a locked rear end, but the motor on the back the the T-case has nothing to do with the locker. Hence why you can have a 98 SR5 4Runner with a rear locker.

I think he was thinking more in the lines of part-time/full-time case being part time is where it would be needed to be locked. I assume.....

There is an additional electronic plug on the case which allows you to lock both rear wheels so they rotate simultaneously when one wheel is off the ground. Part number 36110-35341

Actually it kind of does. Since the rear diff lock only works in 4 lo, it gets its reading from the transfer case select motor so it knows what position the transfer case is in but you can bypass that anyways so you can run the locker in any position, 2wd, 4wd HI and the factory preset low range. If the guys wants to go that route, I can save him $100's of dollars. The money he spends on a used case, he can get the new case from me for a little more. My case would be brand spanking new, his used case could have 200k miles on it and plus the transfer case shift motor may be bad which if you were to price that from the dealer it is roughly $800 by itself.
