Thumbs down Shop Tunes...

I discovered that my stereo receiver that I'd been using in my shop quit last week (it was over 25 years old...), so I've been borrowing my wife's iPod.

That's been working OK until tonight.

Makita Grinder = 1
iPod Earphones = 0

hahahaah

Were you listening to classic rock? My theory is that's the mandatory shop music.

Had the same thing happen to me...

Now I have no headphones. I was using the ones that are the huge earmuff kind. When they were ripped off my head at mach 5 I realized how close I came to certain death. They could have grabbed the back of my head and sucked it into the grinder!

btw it was a bench grinder with a wirewheel that snagged it.

It was the title theme from "The Craft" - "How soon is now".

Not the normal Morrissey fare...

Fortunately these were the freebie Altec Lansing ones that came with the speaker dock. They had a wire that goes over your ear to keep the earpieces from falling out. But, I'll need to pickup another set of the same flavor if I want to listen anymore since the regular iPod earbuds don't stay in my freakishly small ears.

I listen to modern rock and sports radio. No phones for me thanks. Way too many downfalls. Can't here if something happens, they get caught up in things, expensive to replace, etc.

I have an old Pioneer receiver hooked up to some 6x9 speakers mounted in plywood boxes. Sounds good and the cost was $0.

Power tools and loose clothing or chords do not mix. You should know better Cebby. Shame on you.

Quit being a cheap wad and go buy a new stereo receiver.

hehe, something similar happened to me at the gym. i was running and the cord got hooked onto my hand as it was coming up. ripped the ipod right off my belt clip and flung it into the window. twas pretty embarassing

so what i do now is i put on the ear buds, drop the cord down my shirt and attach the plug end into the ipod. no more dangly cord!
