Depends how much your gun can put out and how big your air compressor is.

I purchased this gun from Harbor Freight. I wasn't sure how much torque i needed as you had stated.
So far it has done its job on anything i put it through. Not bad for $20.

250 ft llbs isnt enough for what im doing. im doing work experience in heavy duty, commercial transport mechanics and need an impact to take off bolts off like driveshafts, ect. so today i went to canadian tire and saw a 420ft lb impact with an air ratchet and a air hammer with accessories for 100 bucks. it was on clearance 150 bucks off so i bought it

sounds sweet gary that should get most anything loose but be careful with that much power you might break it before you free it... unless you're working around a gastank/fuel leak a torch & breaker bar can be some good friends...

Mine is like this one ... identical to the IR, but like $50 cheaper (all Craftsman air tools are made by IR)
