Axle stand

I will be starting a sas on my 95 yota soon and i already have a 81 front axle.
I was thinking i needed a stand for it to make it easier to work on when i rebuild
it. I had an old atv jack and some square tubing and this is what i came up with.
I just need to do some grinding and paint it. Its easy to roll around and i can lift it up if i need to. Here ia a pic.

Interesting idea.

You'll probably want to add something to support the pinion flange of the diff... otherwise the axle will always hang with the diff pointing straight down.

Plus those axles get heavy, so make sure you have an assistant to lift it up onto your stand, and back off again when it's done...

Yes that yota front axle is alot heavier than i expected. I have a tractor with a front end loader that i use to pick up axles or what ever need lifting. Here is a pic of my kubota with a ford 8.8 rear end out of my bronco just been rebuilt.

now, you just have to figure out a way to pick it up with that, then hold it.

with one person.

might want to put lockable wheels on the stand so when your wrenching it wont move around. pretty cool though. Wish i had a tractor

The swivel wheels on the jack have locks on them already.

I got my axle on the stand it has a wobble but nothing to worry about. I beat the rod ends off and it was sturdy. Here is a pic.
