I then had it turn 90 degrees into the wall of my garage and 90 degrees up the inside wall and at an upward angle towards the ceiling. It loops around the ceiling and then down to drains at the bottom of several down legs.

They make silencer intake filters to help keep noise down. Another way you can do it, is to just plumb your intake filter to the outside of the building. Almost all the noise comes from the intake filter.

I have run the pipes up off the main line too, it helps because any accumulated water won't just drop into the down pipes.

Using galvanized pipe for my compressor zig zag up the wall to let water evaporate, drain plug down from top then to air hose
