54mm socket in Denver?
Hello,
Any Colorado/Denver locals have an idea of where I can pickup a 54mm socket to swap my auto hubs to manuals? I should have just ordered it from WabFab, and I still may if I have to, but I was hoping to finish it up instead of having to wait for shipping and what not.. Thanks! Ben

I asked one of the mech. at Toyota here in my town. There was a generic part # but have misplaced it. You might want to try asking them...I think WabFab is cheaper though.

A real 54mm or 2 1/8" socket will cost you $40 plus another $10+ for a 3/4" to 1/2" adapter.
We have them much cheaper and they will fit a 3/8" drive: http://www.wabfab.org/aisinmanualhubs/aisin.htm ![]()

You might try Harbor Freight Tools. The quality is certainly not there, but for something like that with a one time use, might be a good deal.

Get the 54mm socket from "WABFAB", cheaper than ebay and you can count on quality, I was kicking myself!
I bought an adapter on ebay as well for $5.00 free shipping, and a 1/2in torque wrench for $35 used in great condition. Cheers! ![]()

I know some people don't like this method but a screwdriver or chisel with some taps from a hammer. The nuts aren't on there too tight and if you are careful it doesn't mess up the nut. This would be in a pinch like i was in had to order the socket from sears but it was going ot take a couple of weeks needed it done same day.
Sears sells a 54mm stamped stee socket for Toyotas on there website OTC6612 i believe. Sears item# 00971288000

a friend of mine loaned me the socket he used on his 87 4runner wheel bearing and it was a ford one that is 76mm I have yet to pull mine and see if it works it is not a normal socket either it is for fords but he said it worked for him.
I am planning on buying the wheel bearing kit from wabbit and the socket soon it really is a good deal I checked at napa and it would cost much more for all the seals and bearings.
