Lc header

Lc header
Great header very thick flange, nicely coated, and clears great. This is on an 89' pickup, 22re, 5 speed, and allpros sac. This thing is well built and you can tell by the welds, finish, and weight.

Not as Happy as the rest
First let me say that my 91 was stock and no other mods have been added as of today. I bought an LC Engineering header in 2002. For a short time i did experience an increase in HP. Then the problems began, I've burned up O2 sensor after O2 sensor, Throttle sensors and have never been able to get good long lasting gasket seal on the exhaust. I have now unplugged the O2 sensors and it's running better. The ceramic coat held up for about two years. My perspective at this point is that when I finish with my 83 build I will go back to stock exhaust on my 91. Perhaps LC's exhaust is a good set up if you are doing drastic changes and understand how to change the trucks brain settings but if you are an average Joe looking to bolt up and go I think you may have the issues I ran into.

The only issues I have had have been the flange gasket with I replaced with a home made copper gasket that has held up for about 10 years now. And also I found the weld beads inside the EGR ports were impeding exhaust gas flow and hurting my smog (NOx) readings. So I had to use a Dremel to grind those beads down to flow better.

Just put the lce header on my 88 yota truck 22re last week and 21/2 pipe 40 series flowmaster kept the cat on sounds great I thought it would be louder but it has a nice low tone. The original exhaust manifold was cracked and also leaked. the rest of the exhaust pipe and muffler were original and they definitely showed it
