This section looks awkward:

Now that's a high center!:

What's the 4Runner resting on exactly... and how you get if off?

Thats TC's red runner, and its just sititng on the bud built. He just backed off. It was a funny thing though...."Uh, Guy's, Troy's decided to go two wheeling!"

The whale rock obstacle is spooky, because it tilts towards a big hole that people flop into. Not such a big deal on a LWB vehicle like a 4runner, but it still makes you nervous.

I got hung on my dastardly budbuilt, by about a millimeter. It was just enough that the truck wouldn't climb. Jacket tuged me about an inch, and then I could drive up. I got a bit nervous waiting for the winch to get spooled out. I kept trying to climb, and people would shout "You're sliding!!!!"

Almost impossible to tell when you are staring at the sky.

Ummm ... yeah ... that was my "know what the backside of the obstacle looks like dumb***" lesson ...

At least there was one picture in there where I had all 4 wheels on the ground!

Nice run and pics. Nothing puts a tire in the air like IFS. This is one of the trails I'd like to hit when I'm up there.

Its my number one trail in CO so far.

Its got it all. Unbeatable scenery. You stare at the collegiate peaks for much of the run (several of many 14k peaks in the area.), obstacles, challenges. Its amazing.

Post up when you are coming up, and we'll get a group to go with for sure. Your runner will have no issue.

Educate me: Why the use of the snatch block below and the angle pull? It's hard to tell from the pic but why wouldn't you pull straight from truck to truck w/o the snatch block? I'm a newbie with my winch so looking to learn...

It looks like they are preventing a slide to the left.

Exactly. Here's the same obstacle from the other side:

When he got a little hung on his skidplate, the vehicle wanted to rotate. We were more concerned about having wedging pressure to keep him on the line than assistance moving forward.

John, TC and Bighead hit the nail on the head.

I got nervous (and a bit cranky) when the truck wanted to walk to the left there.

If you fall off, there is no way it ends good.

In looking at the pictures, and hearing the spotters view, I'm pretty sure I would have been fine.

But, in the moment, I didn't feel fine at all, which was why I got the extra security of the side tension. Once they snugged it up, I was able to climb up.
