A buddy who has an xterra - never been before, we are going to see the usual sites. Going to head up from the LA area after work and camp somewhere. Don't really have any times yet.

That old compound doesn't look all that rundown. Was anybody working or living there when you checked it out?

Yeah there is the caretaker. His father was friends with Mr. Schmidt, the man who dug the tunnel/mine through a whole mountain by himself. The tunnel itself is called burro Schmidt. Thats one of 8 or 9 old mining camps that are still occupied in the intersection of the three roads i stated above.
