I am looking for someone near Sonora, CA that knows what to do to raise the bumper up that 1 inch. I would do it myself but I have minimal welding experience and I do alot of winching, so the welds need to be pefect. PM me if anyone is interested for the job

For the last week, Neu Horizons Off Road (Land Cruisn' 60 from ih8mud) has been building me a front bumper. It's almost done now, just gotta make a few more tie-ins to the frame and gusset it in a few spots, and then she'll be ready for some paint! The bumpers 1 3/4" HREW tubing built off the trail gear winch mount. Sliders and a back bumper will be coming in the next week or two! Oh, and a SAS fairly soon too!

I had an idea for a pair of sliders that I want to build. Unfortunately I don't have any sketches yet, but was wondering if my thinking is sound.

The idea is to put a 2" receiver tube at the rear (near the gap between the bed and cab) of the slider to; 1 work as a pivot point when having to cross a slippery side slope where there is a suitable anchor above, and 2 to be a rope anchor in a high/low angle rescue when no other suitable anchor point is available.

Now I realize that this will not provide as much ground clearance as a normal slider with its tilted up profile, but I spend 80% of the time on paved roads, 15-18% on Forrest service/fire roads, and maybe 2% of the time (or less) where I truly need a slider.

Saw total chaos's for the 3rd or 4th gen(forget which one) and was jealous much so i decided to fab my own up. What do you guys think. Made from 1/8 inch steel took me about a half an hour to make the one drivers side. Ill make the other tomorrow. Friend's dad owns local powdercoating shop so ill clean them up and send them to him. Pretty heavy duty, we'll see how they hold up.

Kinda Ghetto, but Me likey, and so does my 4run!:horse:

Thanks to advance auto for the build a kit section! I spent more than needed, but could duplicate for about 60 bucks. The truck runs really good to, for a 3.slow. I can actually spin a tire on light gravel, it is a whole lot more fun now in the dirt. I plan to make either a splash box or another air box around the filter and 90 it up through the hood. Not sure if I want to do some kind of small snorkel or a hood scoop. Leaning toward a scoop, just because I hope to never put in water that deep.

(other plans)
I have a 94 I paid 800 bucks for so I plan to pull the stick out of it, and rebuild the motor for it. I hope to have the susp lift on its way by the end of the year, but we will see.

Hi guys, I'm building an engine pulling set-up in my garage with I beams, an electric trolly, and either a winch or electric hoist. I figured you guys would know most about winches, so here we go.....

Is a 1 ton winch strong enough to LIFT 500 lbs? How do the rating work? Id like to just use my off-road winch as an electric hoist but if its not safe, i'll invest in a cheap electric hoist....

Opinions? Knowledge?

Thanks guys!!!!
