Sorry this is last minute!

Hey all, you are invited to the HOW North this Saturday for a pre-thanksgiving feast at the HOW North (For directions PM me) - we are at Longmont exit (119) and I-25. (This is Colorado)

It starts around 3:00 till whenever

I am making a turkey (or ham depending on how many RSVP's I get).

Sean and Katie are bringing Blueberry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie and Mashed Potatoes!

So all we need are some crescent rolls, beer, and whatever else you'd want to bring (it is sort of a pot-luck)

So come join Troy, myself, Sean and Katie, as well as Nate (00RegCab, he RSVP'd) for some good chow and even better company!

Then we can have ITG fights in person! WHEEEEEE! Oh and we hope to have a Wii. In case my contact backs out, do any of you coming have a Wii?

Lastly, do any of you have a turkey fryer for this Saturday that I can borrow. have no problem sending it home with you!

Couple Busted for Refusing to Pay Tip
Patrons claim service was so bad, they had to get napkins and silverware for themselves
By DAVID CHANG
Updated 12:20 PM EST, Thu, Nov 19, 2009

If you’re frustrated by poor service at a restaurant, think twice before you decide to not tip. You may be in for a bit more than just a dirty look from the waiter.

"Nobody, nobody wants to be forced to pay a tip or be arrested for terrible service," Leslie Pope said when her happy hour ended in handcuffs.

Pope and John Wagner were hauled away by police and charged with theft for not paying the mandatory 18 percent gratuity totaling $16 after eating at the Lehigh Pub in Bethlehem, Pa. with six friends.

Pope claimed that they had to wait nearly an hour for their order and that she had to get napkins and silverware for the table herself.

“At this point I became very annoyed because I had already gone up to the bar myself to have my soda refilled because the waitress never came back,” Pope said.

After the $73 bill came, the group paid for food, drinks, and tax but refused to pay the tip. After explaining the bad service to the bartender in charge, Pope claimed he took their money and called police. The couple was handcuffed and placed in the back of a police car.

“I understand that, you know, we didn’t pay the gratuity, but it was a gratuity, it wasn’t something that was required,” said Wagner.

The owner admitted that the group waited unusually long for their food, but said the pub was extremely busy that night. He said managers offered to comp the food, a claim the couple denies ever happened.

“Obviously we would have liked for the patron and the establishment to have worked this out without getting the police involved,” said Deputy Police Commissioner Stuart Bedics.

Police charged them with theft since the gratuity was part of the actual bill. However, it is doubtful that the charges will hold up in front of a judge. The couple is scheduled to appear in court next month.

No, not a Toyota. Its a Traxxas Slash. I bought it off ebay about 2 weeks ago, came in on monday. These things are a blast and really take a lot of abuse. I've had a couple Traxxas Stampedes in the past and this Slash does stuff that would have sent the Stampede into the repair shop looooooooong ago. They're pretty quick too, and fully waterproof :D.

Here's some pics of mine with some carnage included:

I've broken these 2 rear skid plates and a rear shock tower, and the rear bearing carrier as seen above. My RPM rear skid will be here Friday and I replaced the bearing carriers with RPM products too :)
I've had many r/c cars in the past, but this one is my favorite. Here's my running list:
-Traxxas Stampede
-CEN 4WD Touring Car
-Team Losi Mini-T
-Traxxas Stampede VXL
-Custom rock crawler
-Traxxas Slash

I want to get a clear body and paint it like this :D

Time and time again I look at pictures of people running these tires backwards. Most of the pictures I see are from people on the cover of Crawl Magazine. WOW

NOTE: IROK ND's are non directional only (which BTW they only sell in 3 sizes)

If you got a set of Iroks and didnt know they are directional ide sugest you go outside and see if your one of the many that arent getting the full potential out of your tires. Unless you go in reverse all day that is haha. the long outer lugs have a cup/scoop cut in them only to aid in traction. the scoops are only on one side of the lug.

Now heres a pic of right and wrong. My tires before I bought them were mounted wrong by the previous owner. Only 1 is backwards on my truck at the moment just so I could play around :hillbill: but who knows if the guy had 3 wrong and 1 right.

Driverside is mounted backwards.
Passanger side is mounted corectly.

 they even have arrows on the tire to show you the direction "MOVING FORWARD"

I just find this funny knowone seems to know this. SO NOW YOU KNOW :hillbill:

If anyone has a better pic of the cup itself post up I would but im stuck at work and cant get a pic

Friend of mine (roommate) slipped off the road so me and my suitemate went to go pull him out. Assessing the situation he was about 35 feet down a 35 degree decline with long wet grass and mud. He had no tow hooks so we wrapped the tow strap around the frame crossmember (in the rear). I locked the hubs, put it into 4 low and backed it into the ditch. we were perpendicular, and honestly thought I would be slipping alot. But it came out fast and easy, I was really surprised. It weighs in around 3k.

Sorry no pics, but I'll take a pic of where he was stuck sometime today. Go yota! My friend thinks my truck is a BEAST now.

Anybody have an experience with Bead Blasting? I want to take some old nasty paint off of some aluminum engine parts. What the previous owner painted them is beyond me. From what I've read glass beads look like they will do the trick. I'm going to try an El Cheapo blaster unit from Harbor Freight. Any tips or tricks?

Note: Bead Blasting and Sand Blasting are two totally different procedures. Sandblasting is way overkill for what I want to do. I don't need much abrasion and it's imperative that I don't embed the material I'm spraying into my engine parts.

I had a job interview for a County Maintenance Vehicle Mechanic position. I applied for this job nearly 3 years ago and did not get it. Since then I've gotten 2 ASE certifications and 2.5 years more mechanical experience and reapplied once they had another opening. I had to talk to 4 different people in different departments (heavy equipment, parts, shop manager, and light trucks/cars).
They all asked me my experience histories and I told them different places I worked and jobs I performed. I highly emphasized my specialty in driveabilites and electrical diagnosis. This didn't seem to phase them as apparently difficult tasks are sent out to actual dealerships for repairs. Here is a list of questions I was asked and how I responded. I was shocked and unprepared for some of them (listed with a ? at the beginning). Please rate me to how well you guys thought I did/didn't do and any critiques for future references. Thanks guys!

(?)1. Tell me about your personal life. What do you like to do? (A). I am married to an EMT (that's employed by the same county I am applying for). I love to wrench on vehicles and working on a project Toyota 4x4 as well as my own daily driver. I like to hunt, fish, and go offroading, or riding 4wheelers.
2. Why did you leave/get laid of from other places of employment? (A) My first employment with X dealership was a lay off due to lack of work. This was the same place I also gained experience while I was co-opping and going to school to be an auto technician. My second job was a temporary job while I was looking for another job as an automotive technician. Once I found another job I quit this job with a 2 weeks notice. My third job was for 3 years until the GM dealership finally closed down so I was laid off. My current job is where I've been since the lay off for 3 months.
(?)3. The pay here isn't great but the benefits are excellent. Why do you WANT to work HERE instead of another job that pays much better. (A) I would like a steady income where my pay isn't constantly fluctuating because I am on flat rate (commission), the benefits are also great. Also my wife works for the same county as an EMT and she says this is a great county to work for.
(?)4. Do you have any experiences on working on heavy duty vehicles? (A) Not as many as I'd like to work with. I'm always looking to better myself and am willing to learn. I have however worked on YOUR vehicles sent to my GM dealership on ambulances that were under warranty. Even diagnosed and fixed an electrical problems you guys had with it. I was given a good CSI score from it.

What do you guys think? Nailed it or too overconfident and braggish?
