Okay I know I'm gonna get a "Search" lashing here, but I did do a few and nothing solid came up. I am looking at a 1996 T100 4x4 Extra Cab. Its clean and I've always loved these trucks. Any other info on such parts below? Am I better off getting heavier torsion bars? And no, SAS is way to over the top for me.

Want: 1.5 - 2 inch lift (mostly in the front) to fix 32.5 on 16's
Fix: 1.5 inch balljoint spacers in the front(4crawler.com) Any issues with alignments?

Want: Armor the lowers and sliders
Fix: Custom build, as I don't think anyone sells T100 parts???

Want: Locked rear
Fix: No idea which parts swap... will a Taco axle swap???

Want: Possibly find or build bumpers
Fix: Custom as I don't think anyone sells T100 parts?

Thanks for bearing with me. My Tacoma is a breeze with parts. (coil overs, etc) but the T10o is a breed on it's own.

I've seen specs, and the T100 seems to be just a tad bigger which is supprising. First hand knowledge would be great.

Hi All!

Back again with more questions; '96 T100.

I'm an amateur radio operator. In conjunction with some planned upgrades to the audio on my truck (see previous thread), I hope to install a dual-band transceiver for 2M (144MHz), and 70CM (440MHz). The Icom radio I have outputs about 50 Watts on either band, and will be driving a simple 1/4 wave mag-mount antenna on the roof, at least to start off with.

I have the radio in my old Ford F250 at the moment. The 2M band works fine, but transmitting anywhere in the 70CM segment stalls the engine (no ignition) until you let go of the PTT button :-(

Anybody have any experience with putting ham radio gear into one of these trucks, or really, any Toyota of similar vintage? Any RF issues? I'd really appreciate hearing from you!

TIA!

ByeBye! S.

Hi All!

New here, with a new (to me) '96 T100 SR5 Xtra Cab.

I plan on installing a hi-end aftermarket stereo into this truck. I would _like_ to use some existing components:

Alpine CDA-7995 head
Alpine CHA-S634 changer
Alpine PDX-4.150 amp
Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 6 1/2 inch component speakers X4
JL Audio 10W7 X2 Sub
JL Audio 1000/1 amp
??? Hybrid capacitor/power control

That's a lot, and the T100 really doesn't have enuf room for everything . . .

Unless . . .

I had thought to rework the space beneath the fold-down rear seats to create a place to mount the amplifiers and changer. Anyone have any suggestions, or been-there-dun-that?

Some sources say 5.25" speakers front and back, some indicate 6.5 will fit in front, some say 5" in back. I pulled the drivers side door panel, and those Kappas aren't gonna fit without an adapter, maybe not even then. Anyone have 1st hand experience fitting aftermarket speakers? 'Specially BIG ones :-)

Previous owner fit a 6 CD changer from a Camry into the OEM slot; nice job, too. Can I assume that whatever OEM brackets lurk behind the bezel offer a standard DIN mounting arrangement?

Anything else to watch for?

TIA for any and all!

ByeBye! S.

Any one out there ever find a triple gauge pod that will fit on the drivers A pillar? I have a 97 extended cab and want to put all my super charger gauges on the pillar. I have a single pod there now for the boost gauge, but want to put an egt and fuel/air ratio gauge there also. I don't think there is one made for this truck, but I was hoping one of you will know of one made for another vehicle that will fit.

It fires right up, runs smooth, but the minute the temp gauge hits normal running temp, it wants to die, and it starts running like its running on three cylinders . Have to mash the skinny pedal to keep it running. Go out the next day, and the same thing happens.

Something else, sometimes it smokes like the thing does not have rings on the pistons. Couple of days later started it up and no smoke.
It is showing code 0441 on the scanner. Gonna try and fix the valve operating the charcoal canister.
