1987 toyota flywheel spacer on autop trans

I am working on my 1987 toyota 4runner 22re with auto trans.took off flywheel but forgot where the thick spacer goes.behind the flywheel or in front. I looks like it goes behind,next to crankshaft because i installed it in front an the torque converter bolts touch other bolts holding the big steel plate on engine block? Any answers out there?

I finally got to take my 4 runner on some trails for the first time, around Cow Mtn. It was a lot of fun.

San Rafael Swell 11-13 to 11-14-09

On Friday the 13th I head out to the San Rafael Swell for a trip put together by Cruiseroutfitters (Kurt) consisting of members from the Wasatch Cruisers and ExpeditionUtah. This would be the first group camping trip that I had attended of this size in awhile.

The plan was too leave Bountiful too meet up with another group to caravan down to camp before it got dark. Unfortunately, there was a 8 car pile-up on S.B I-15 that caused some major delays. Fortunately, I had been monitoring my CB (don't know if this was a no-no)listening to truck drivers directing each other on how to get accident.

Ultimately, this put us a little behind schedule due to the detour. Despite this incident the rest of the drive down to camp location was mostly uneventful. Despite getting lost/confused as to where the group was camping at for the night. We did eventually find them at the first location we had originally stopped and where able to set up camp for the night.

Morrison Knudsen Tunnel site. Due to vandalism and some vulgar language and images that have been sprayed painted in and around the tunnel. I will not post the photo's on this site.

The San Rafael Swell bridge was the next stop on this trip:

Heading out to Black Dragon Canyon turnoff.

The trail down to the Black Dragon Canyon Pictograph site was the first trail that required the use of four wheel drive. Portions of the trail had been reworked thanks to mother nature making a few sections of the trail quite interesting.

Gotta love the different layers of rock strata:

The rock that the back passenger tire is sitting on claimed a few exhaust tips and bumpers due to approach and departure angle of the trail (myself included).

After spending some time at the panel for lunch and exploring for some it was off to camp. The road out was less dramatic than the road expect for a wash crossing at the end of trail which was no problems.

After about an hour or so the storm had died down and started to dissipate enough to allow the sun to come out and warm things up a little.

Sometime around 4pm I made the decision to go ahead and head back home for the night and opt out of the trail run the next day. Which I am now kicking myself for.

The drive back to Bountiful was pretty uneventful up until Price where I would reach another snow storm though the entire length of Spanish Fork Canyon. From then on out the roads where free and clear and I made a B-Line for home.

Overall, this was a great trip with some great scenery and good group of people. Hopefully, next year I'll be able to hit this area up again once it gets a little warmer for some more exploring.

I took the 4Runner out on Halloween for a little snow bashing. I hit up some of the higher mountain passes, since I don't know how much longer I'll be able to do so. I started up at Sts.John ...

Past the town and getting deeper

The end of the trail for me, the snow was getting too deep and it was too steep to make much progress. I could have broke out the winch, but it seemed like more effort than it was worth.

Went with my fab buddy Cam out to wagon wheel. Showed us some more trails, including "Big Pimpin". That trail is completely unpassable for, as it was put, "sheet metal rigs". We didnt run it, but Jonny went around it on a pucker hill, and almost rocked his runner. Before he went down, cam took of to go around, I couldnt get turned around fast enough to catch up with him. I followed his tracks as close as I could, but, where he turned around, I kept going, and almost cartwheeled the truck down the mountain. When I got down Cam Immediately said "you went down that messed up hill, didnt you? I turned around and went down another way". So, yes, today, everyone pushed their trucks and themselves close to the edge. Enjoy the pics.

Summer trip to McCaslin Mt. WI

Went up to McCaslin Mountain WI over the this past summer to test out the locker that I put in, and let me tell you it worked awesome. I have soo much more traction. If if would have gone through some of the mud or up some of the hills without a locker i would have never made it. After I went on the trip i decided that i needed to life the rear end a little so i put on the some 63" chevies. Now all i need is a new set of shocks cause i have ZERO travel left in them. Last few pics are with the new chevies

Also what are a good not too expensive shock that you all would recommend?

The lookout was beautiful.

And the amazing tent set up that my brother and I had. At least it kept all the rain off of us.:coffee:

Kyburz Wheeling

Wasn't sure where to post this, but 93yotaSR5 and myself went up to Kyburz and went wheeling today, figured i'd post up what videos and pictures I have for viewing purposes. Didn't do a very good job on the whole picture / video quality. my camera mount didn't hold up very well to the bumps, rocks and other things we were driving over. So what I have is very limited. but anywho, onto the pictures!

Forest Lake and Cascade Springs 10/31/09

Ended up meeting with few individual from Expedition Portal and Yotatech and headed up to Forest Lake and Cascade Springs in American Fork Canyon here in Utah. Overall, it was a great day to be up in mountains despite being a little cold and tired from a 6am wake up call.

The trail up to Forest Lake was the first bit of rock crawling (to some degree)that I've done since leaving Arizona and it was a blast :rockin:. The snow on the trail kept things interesting and being the only people on the trail up until Cascade Springs was great.

I can add some rock rash to my vehicle damage list due to the stupid limited fender flares.

So instead of a long, winded write-up on my part (being lazy its midnight)I've condensed my photo's into a little 4:30 minute video. Enjoy the photos and the music.
