92 -v6 engine swap for 350 v8 smog issues?

My 92 yota pick up has a cracked block and, Im looking to swap out the v6- for a chevy 350 V8 ..I know I will have to get an adapter kit and change out radiator etc...but the question I have is ..I will have to go w/a 87-95 350 v8 and those years come w/fuel injection..I wanted to go w/a carb and put an aftermarket carb on 350 v8 ..Will it still pass smog? I will have to go to a ref station in CA to have it approved but I dont want to do all that work and have it fail because I went w/after market carb instead of FI? Any thoughts?
