cooling sys temp and pressure asap

i have a 86 xtra cab 4x4 22re. i have had a couple problems with the cooling system. when i got it i blew a hole in the radiator, i put a used one in it. it was holdin up fine then i blew that one too. so i called a friend and he said that it was the thermostat. so i replace that and a new set of superpro gauges. the temp guage fluctuates between 210 and 180. it will stay at 210 for about a minute then it dropps to 180 in bout 3 seconds, is that normal? and the upper radiator hose has a lot of pressure i just wanna make sure this is normal so i dont blow another radiator. thanks oopie
